About the Artist
My name is Katie Allen, i am a 23 year old illustrator from Surrey, UK, and graduated in 2010 from Southampton Solent University. My time spent in the printroom at uni has heavily influenced my way of working with images. My working process consists of creating analogue elements using inks, stamps, crayons, collage, and textures, and composing them digitally. I like to work with these textures and colours in layers, much like a screenprint. I’m very interested in design, and aspire to working on posters, ad campaigns and web design. The ‘fingerprint’ I put on my work is my handmade typography, which is an amalgamation of my own handwriting and copied vintage fonts.
